2021 Epic ride: The Katy Trail in Missouri

The Pandemic has afforded me the opportunity to finally get to ride one of my “bucket list” trails. The Katy Trail in Missouri.

Before becoming a trail, this was part of the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad. The railroad ran from Parsons, Kansas, to St. Louis, Missouri, and south to Galveston, Texas.

The Katy Trail runs for Clinton MO to Machens MO for a total of 239 miles. 2020 marked the 30th anniversary of the dedication of The Katy Trail. 400,000 hikers, cyclists and joggers use this trail each yearl. This year is my turn.

My ride will start in historic Sedalia MO and continue for five days until I reach St Charles. I should clock in just about 200 miles total.
